Known for his work in Bhojpuri, Telugu, and Hindi films, Ravi Kishan is a film and television actor and a politician. Born and brought up in a small village of Uttar Pradesh, Kishan made a debut in the industry with a Bhojpuri film. In 2008, he was awarded the Most Popular Actor by ETV Bhojpuri Cinema Samman. However, Kishan gained popularity and caught the public eye by participating in reality shows, including 'Bigg Boss' and 'Ek Se Baddkar Ek'. In 2010, Kishan was seen in mainstream cinema after he worked with popular directors such as Shyam Benegal and Mani Ratnam. His first Telugu film 'Race Gurram' released in 2014, which earned him recognition in the south industry. After three years, Kishan made a debut in Kannada films with 'Hebbuli'. Gradually, he became a popular face of Bhojpuri and south Indian movies. After joining the Indian National Congress, Kishan contested his first Lok Babha elections in 2014. However, he shifted to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2017. In 2019, he won the General Election from the Gorakhpur constituency.
